MISSING JURORS

THE TIMES.
29th JULY , 1977.
Court call to 'missing' jurors

Six jurors were ordered yesterday to appear before a judge at the Central Criminal Court next week to explain why they did not attend for service earlier this month. The six had been due to appear before the Recorder of London, Judge Miskin, QC, yesterday under a new system which  handles absent jurors in weekly batches instead of individually to " show cause " why they did not appear on July 4-8. But they again failed to appear or to make contact with the court. They could face fines up to £1OO. The judge adjourned the hearing until next Thursday.
