City of London Corporation
A Reception was held at the Central Criminal Court on Tuesday, February 27,2007, to mark the Centenary of the Opening of the Central Criminal Court. The City of London Corporation was honoured by the presence of Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.
The Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress accompanied by the Recorder of London and Mrs Beaumont, the Sheriffs and their Ladies hosted the Reception.
Among those present were: The Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain and Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs, the Attorney-General, the Master of the Rolls, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Auld, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Latham, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Thomas, the Rt Hon Lord Justice Leveson, His Honour Sir Lawrence and Lady Verney, the Hon Mr Justice Grigson, the Hon Mr Justice Gross, the Hon Mr Justice Calvert-Smith, the Hon Mr Justice Bean, Master Robert Turner, Master of The Queen’s Bench and the Queen’s Remembrancer, His Honour Neil Denison, His Honour Andrew Hall, Chairman, Criminal Bar Association, Mr Alex Allen, Permanent Secretary and Clerk to the Crown in Chancery, Ms Fiona Woolf, President, the Law Society of England and Wales, Mr Greg Powell, President, London Criminal Solicitors, Association, past and present judges of the Central Criminal Court, representatives of Her Majesty’s Courts Service, past Lord Mayors, past Sheriffs of London, past Chief Commoners, representatives of the City Lands and Bridge House Estates Committee and officers of the City of London Corporation and individuals associated with the Central Criminal Court.
